FLINT, MI – When ESPN analyst Chris Broussard visits Flint’s Charity United Methodist Church and discusses rebuilding the black man’s image in America, Pastor Brian Willingham said he hopes the discussion accomplishes something.

“This is one of the things we’re trying to do, is connect with this community,” Willingham said. “From talking with Mr. Broussard and his people, I learned that he’s a Christian and has a deep concern about the well-being of black males.”

Broussard will visit from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 13, at the church at 4601 Clio Road.

Willingham also hopes to have a panel discussion as part of the free event.

Also a Flint police officer, Willingham has served as pastor at the church since July.

While his congregation has about 50 members, the church can hold 300 people, Willingham said.

“We’re trying to regrow the congregation in this Clio Road area,” he said.
